The Gardener's Bothy

The Native team held this project close to their hearts for several reasons! Not only was it featured in the Autumn 2021 series of Grand Designs, but it also serves as the family home of Iain, co-founder of Native & Staran. The existing B-listed bothy required extensive restoration to meet livable standards. Given its connection to the existing walled garden, careful attention was necessary during the restoration to ensure the structure remained sound while preserving as much character as possible. Inside the walled garden, a new, modern single-storey extension was built, elegantly clad in black timber.
